2  1/2 teaspoon yeast, or 1 packet

1 teaspoon sugar

2  1/2 cups all purpose flour

1  1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup of water (115*)

Optional Ingredients to add for flavoring the dough:

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions: Preheat oven to 450*F

Start by placing sugar and yeast in a heat proof bowl, and pour water in . I just do it in my Pyrex measuring glass. Allow the sugar and yeast to sit and proof, about 15 minutes. (Proofing is complete once yeast mixture has a thick layer of foam at the top).

Add all other ingredients into a bowl, except the olive oil.

Pour in "proofed" yeast mixture, along with the olive oil.

Mix yeast and flour until dough forms, then knead with hands to form a ball. Let stand covered with a warm moist towel for 15 minutes.

Place on floured surface, add additional flour on top of dough and on your rolling pen, and roll dough to your desired thickness. *Dough can be cut in half to form two thin crust pizzas.

(I find it easier to just transfer the rolled dough with its parchment paper onto a cookie sheet and work with it, also easy clean up and no mess, if you don’t mind square slices)
